ARRIVAL FEATURE
Location: Corner of Institute Way and Tamarack Way
Created in 1995 by Finnish architect Juhani Pallasama,
this piece illustrates the galaxies of the northern and southern hemispheres on
a curved bronze wall. The six granite pillars rising behind the wall bear the
latitude and longitude identifications of the six different regions in Canada
from which the glacial-born rocks on Cranbrook’s campus originate. The blending
of stars and stone represents the intersection of art and science at Cranbrook.
